The use of displacement and elution chromatography for preparative isolation of transplutonium elements

Description

Using as an example preparative separation of curium and americium a comparative evaluation of methods of displacement complexing and elutiop chromatography is carried out. It is shown that the elution method can be successfully used in preparative purposes at high fillings of column even during separation of difficulty separable elements as americium and curium (separation coefficient is 1, 3) and can successfully compete with the displacement method. While separating transcurium elements there are no cases when column filling exceeds 1%. Therefore, the elution method is used. A laboratory device, permitting to use different columns depending on the task to be solved, is used to separate the elements
