Description

The Regional Adjustment Law for the vicinity of power generating facilities has been put in effect, which aims at the smooth installation of power generating plants by helping improve the public facilities in the areas concerned, including roads, waterworks, etc. The first such plans under the law were formulated in Fukushima, Fukui and Ehime Prefectures, and subsequently approved. Each case involves nuclear power stations. The following matters are described: particulars of the law; power generating facilities in the respective prefectures; cities, towns and villages included in the improvement plans; outline of the improvement projects to be carried out in the public improvement plan in each prefecture; and the problems encountered in the formulation of the plans.
