Resonances decaying to a photon and a J (psi) particle

Description
If L = 1 orbital excitations 3P2,1,0 of the J(psi) particle exist (assuming it to be a 3S1 quark--antiquark state), the decays 3P2,1 → J(psi) + γ, J(psi) → (lepton)+ + (lepton)- are predicted to yield W(3P2,theta) is proportional to 1 + (0.4 to 0.6)cos2theta and W(3P1,theta) is proportional to sin2theta. Here W (theta) is the distribution in angle theta between the photon and either lepton in the J(psi) rest frame. The decay 3P0 → J(psi) + γ [which must have W(3P0,theta) approx. = 1 + cos2theta] is predicted to be suppressed
