Description
Report consists of two sections: description of SINQ spallation neutron source and program to design a liquid-metal target (LMT) for it. SINQ is currently the most powerful neutron source on the world (500 kW) and operates on solid target made from zircaloy rods cooled by heavy water. The increased radioactivity of water and tend to increase neutron flux stimulate efforts to design LMT. Paper contains design options for LMT, R and D program and the obtained results

Доклад состоит из двух частей: описание нейтронного источника скалывания SINQ и программа разработки жидкометаллической мишени (ЖМТ) для него. В настоящее время SINQ является самым мощным в мире (500 кВт) источником нейтронов и работает на твердой мишени из циркалоевых стрежней, охлаждаемых тяжелой водой. Повышенная радиоактивность воды и стремление увеличить нейтронный поток являются стимулом для разработки ЖМТ.
