Description

According to the previous works on electrical properties of the Bi2Sr2Ca1-yYyO8+δ, when Ca is replaced by Y, the Tc critical temperature decreases and reaches zero when y = 0.6. In correlation with this fact, it was found that the structural modulations also change in a remarkable way with increasing Y-content, parallel with the decreasing critical temperature. The analysis of the structure indicates that the period of one-dimensional modulated structure along b-axis decreases 4.8b → 4b for y 0 → 1 respectively, with increasing Y-content. It means that the incommensurate structural modulation changes for a commensurate one replacing the Ca atoms to Y ones. (orig.)
