Description
The operability of components is an important prerequisite for the safety of nuclear power plants. In the first part of the paper, the concept for the protection of safety equipment of the nuclear power plant against adverse environment is presented. For the example of snubbers it is shown how safety can be improved by dispensing with active systems. In the second part, measures which ensure the operability of active systems and components according to the current state of the art in the Federal Republic of Germany are discussed. (orig.)
