Radiological challenges during dismantling of the cooling circuit in the NPP Rheinsberg

Description
With the removal of the nuclear fuel, the dismantling of the primary coolant circuit and the draining of the spent fuel storage pool the cooling circuit has to be disassembled and disposed. Due to accidental incidents during NPP operation the piping system and the floor have been contaminated. The contribution deals with the complex radiological situation concerning the hot spot identification and the challenges for the disassembling work. The disassembling concept, radiation protection measures and the relevant experiences are discussed.
