Radiosterilization of selected drugs, biochemicals and additives

A gentle degermination of biopreparations is not always rationally to achieve by conventional procedures like heat, chemicals or filtration. The present survey shows a multitude of results with regard to the stability of drug preparations, biochemicals and auxiliary substances against ionizing radiation. The decomposition demonstrated mainly by physico-chemical methods amounts up to 5%. The irradiation of solid drug preparations is a most careful and gentle procedure applicable for many substances.
