Two center variationally determined scattering amplitudes

Description

Varitionally determined elastic scattering amplitudes arising from the interaction of a structureless particle with two separated Yukawa force centers are reported in this study. The parameters involved include R, the vector separating the centers; k02/2, the energy of the particle; k/sub j/ and k/sub f/, the wave vectors of the incoming the outgoing particles, respectively; and g, the interaction strength. Numerical values for the T matrix elements are tabulated and plotted for a variety of these parameters. Comparison is also made with three other nonvariational approximations to this problem
