On the mass of the W±-particle from generalized electrodynamics
Description
In this paper, the previously derived analysis from a generalized form of electrodynamics that exhibits some weak- and strong-interaction characteristics at small distances is applied to pp-bar scattering. It is found that an extra quantity of energy, of order of 342 GeV, is transferred in the collision studied by the CERN group. While this is about four times that of the W± mass, taking account of the approximations used here it is possible to reduce this value toward the observed value, thus remaining in competition with the standard gauge theory of Glashow, Salam and Weinberg
