VLBI, intercontinental radiointerferometry
Description
Very Long Baseline Interometry (VLBI) is a radiointerferometric technique which provides the otherwise unmatched angular resolution of 10-9 radians in the study of celestial objects. Here, we review the basics of radiointerferometry, image processing by Fourier techniques, and VLBI. Finally, we make a guess of the future prospects of this area or research. (Author)
