Atypic appendicitis acuta
Description
The diagnosis appendicitis acuta is usually based on interview and clinical examination of the patient. In some cases, however the clinical picture is not typical. This report demonstrates a case of chronic appendicitis with intraluminal calcifications detected by ultrasound and plain X-ray. The combination of these two examinations increased the diagnostic security. (orig./GDG)

Die Diagnose einer akuten Appendizitis wird meist aufgrund einer Konsultation und klinischen Untersuchung gestellt. In einigen Faellen ist jedoch das klinische Bild atypisch. Der vorliegende Bericht betrifft einen Fall einer chronischen Appendizitis mit intraluminalen Verkalkungen, die mittels Ultraschall und Nativaufnahme festgestellt wurden. Die Kombination dieser beiden Untersuchungsmethoden erhoehte die diagnostische Sicherheit. (orig./GDG)Additional details
