Elastic and inelastic scattering of 16O on 40Ca

Description

Elastic and inelastic scattering experiments performed with the Saclay FN tandem and a QDDD high-resolution spectrometer are reported. The attention was focused on the region of intermediate angles (i.e. from the grazing angle up to approximately 1100 (cm)) with the aim to look for the REFRACTIVE properties of the real potential. Special effort was made to separate the 3- (3.737 MeV) and the 2+ (3.904 MeV) levels of 40Ca in the inelastic scattering to look if we observe the Da Silvera phase rule
