Spatial transformation for deep penetration of one-speed neutrons in slabs

  • 1. Chalmers Univ. of Technology, Goeteborg (Sweden). Dept. of Reactor Physics

Description

An exponential transformation has been introduced to facilitate the calculation of the neutron flux in deep penetration problems. One-speed neutrons were considered with isotropic or linearly anisotropic scattering. The Sn-method was used, but some problems were solved with the integral equation method, too. Comparisons have been made with older and newer results obtained by others. It turns out that an exponential transformation may lead to more accurate results in Sn-calculations but not when using the integral equation method
