On the temperature concept for intermediate-velocity emission in heavy-ion reactions

Description
In this paper problems connected with temperature parameters determined from intermediate-velocity particles emitted in medium-energy heavy-ion collisions are rediscussed. Arguments are given that these parameters probably have little to do with real thermal motion, and a consistent interpretation avoiding the temperature concept is outlined. Its ingredients are direct and sequential projectile breakup, Fermi motion and nucleon-nucleon single scattering
