Pomraning -eddington approximation for anisotropic scattering of the neutron transport equation in spherical geometry

Description
The pomraning-eddington approximation is used to solve the neutron transport equation for anisotropic scattering in a spherical homogeneous media.This approximation replaces the intgro-differential equation by a second order differential equation which has an analytical solution in terms of the modified Bessel function . The combination of strongly for-ward and back -ward scattering with usual linearly anisotropic scattering have been studied with angular dependent specular reflecting boundary. Partial heat flux is calculated and tabulated for different scattering parameters and for different spherical radii with anisotropic scattering through a homogeneous solid sphere.Our results are compared with the available data and show greater accuracy for thick and highly scattering media.
