Deep inelastic processes and SU (4) symmetry

Description
The consequence of SU(4) symmetry in weak and electromagnetic deep inelastic processes is studied using the conventional ideas on two-body hadronic reactions. They are discussed in several steps, thus clarifying exactly which assumptions are needed to derive each of the relations. Comparison with the results of the quark parton model is made. (author)
