Observation of electromagnetically induced absorption in open atomic systems

Description
We observed electromagnetically induced absorption (EIA) in open atomic systems, which had been studied theoretically by Taichenachev, but had not been explored experimentally. When a degenerate two-level system is coupled by coupling fields above the threshold, even though it has loss due to decay, it shows EIA. We investigated three open systems belonging to the 85Rb D1, 87Rb D1 and D2 lines and having the different open degrees
