Description
From our measurements of the lifetimes of high spin states in 168Yb along with the published lifetime data for the nearby even even ytterbium isotopes, 160-168Yb using the Recoil Distance Method (RDM) and the Doppler Shift Attenuation Method (DSAM) present a great opportunity to probe systematically the relationship between the nuclear shape changes and the reduction in collectivity.
