Under the mushroom cloud. The fate of the children of Nagasaki
Creators
Description
It was 11.02 a.m. on 9 August 1945 when Nagasaki became an atomic wasteland. Only a few children survived the atomic bombing. Takashi Nagai had these children, who were between four and twelve years old at the time of the disaster, write essays. The aim of this publication is to spread the cry of the affected children and make them heard. They are shouting out just one thing: "We don't want any more war!" Takashi Nagai, who edited this collection, experienced the atomic bombing at Nagasaki University Hospital. He was seriously injured and contracted leukaemia from the excessive radiation. In 1951, he died as a result of this disease.

Additional details
