Improving methods for the localisation of parathyroid lesions

Description
Accurate localisation of enlarged parathyroid glands has been achieved in 7 out of 8 patients (88%) using 201Tl-thallous chloride - sup(99m)Tc-sodium pertechnetate imaging. The technique has been simplified by injecting and imaging the thallium before technetium and by use of a vacuum immobiliser. (orig.)
