Investigation of ruthenium (3) bromocomplexes interaction with thiourea in solutions

Description
Interaction of K3(Ru2Br9)(1) and K3(RuBr6)xH2O(2) with thiourea (thio) in HBr solutions is investigated by the methods of absorption and ESR spectroscopy. The (Ru(thio)6)3+ and (Ru(thio)5x(H2O))3+ complexes are shown to be formed in diluted HBr solutions depending on conditions. In the concentrated (7.5 N) HBr solutions interaction of 1 with thio runs through the stage of formation of a binuclear complex with bridge bromide atoms. The rate of formation of thiourea ruthenium (3) complexes is considerably higher for 2 than for 1
