Cernavoda NPP: an energy lifeline for Romania
Description
Cernavoda, a Danube port, is the site of one of the largest nuclear construction projects of Romanian, Canadian and Italian undertaking. It will supply 30% of the country's present electrical consumption. The difficulties encountered to achieve effective project management, resulting in a IAEA project review (October 1990) since the Romenergo (foreign trade company) -AECL agreements were concluded (December 1978) are described. 2 figs
