Description
A simple one-dimensional model of the free expansion of a highly under-expanded two-phase jet is formulated herein. The model is found to be in good agreement with available measurements of the centerline pressure decay in small- and large-scale free jet experiments. Moreover, it is demonstrated that existing measurements of the forces experienced by a target surface immersed in a two-phase jet are in reasonable agreement with standard type momentum balance formulations
