Curves of growth of emission lines in cometary spectra and determination of the production rates of water vapor and hydroxyl in Halley comet

Description
Calculation problem of growth curves of spectral lines in the comet with gas isotropic outflow is considered, formule for primary and secondary molecules are derived and families of growth curves are built at variation of one or another parameter. The device obtained is used to determine water vapor production in the Halley comet by measurement results conducted on Vega vehicles of H2O 2.7 and 1.38 nm band, which turned out to be equal to 1.1x1030 and 0.8x1030 s-1, respectively. Formule for secondary molecules applicable to OH 3090 A band measurements in the Halley comet at IUF satellite are given with account of (0.9±0.25)x1030s-1 hydroxyl production band structure
