Chronometric corrections to the determination of masses of distant galaxies
Description
Measurements on distant galaxies are reinterpreted according to Segal's new chronometric theory of the cosmos, admitting the conformal group SO4,2 as a global symmetry group. In particular, the corrected values for the ratio neutral-hydrogen mass to total mass is found, as given in the 21 cm study of peculiar galaxies by Peterson and Shostak. For this sample, the apparent increase of the mass ratio with distance is reduced in the chronometric theory
