Absorption casing for storage and transportation of fission materials

Description
The absorption casing consists of a steel support and an absorbing layer, which is 0.1 to 2.0 mm thick and is made of a boron-containing substance such as B4C, TiB2 or (Ti,Cr)B2. The concentration of boron in the absorption layer is 20 to 70 wt.%. The layer can also contain 5 to 50 wt.% nickel or its alloy, e.g. chromium-nickel or NiCrSiB, the remaining fraction consisting of a boron-containing substance. (B.S.). 1 fig
