Rational algebraic function fitted to the Klein-Nishina energy transfer cross-section formula
Description
This paper presents a method for fitting a quadratic over a cubic rational function to the Klein-Nishina energy transfer cross section. The evaluation of the approximate formula is faster than that of the original expression and there is no problem with the computer precision at low energies. The error is within 0.4% for energies below 5 Mev. 3 refs
