Description

In mass spectrometric investigations of ions in the positive column of a low pressure glow discharge in N2/H2 mixtures (N2:H2=10:1, 1:2, 1:10p approximately 1 Torr, i approximately 50 mA, H=1,5 cm) the dominating ions NH+4, N2H+, and a small portion of H3+- and NH3+-ions were observed. These results are compared with calculated ion densities. It is shown that the ionization of NH2 molecules created in the discharge plasma and secondary ion molecule reactions are important for the ion population in this plasma. (auth.)
