Description
Presented is review of the use of treatment methods of different forms of primary malignant tumor of the tongue: radiation method with application of long-life isotopes 226Ra, 60Co, 137Cs with the constant dose rate and short-life isotopes 192Ir, 198Au, 222Ra with varying dose rate, combined and surgical methods of treatment of the tongue cancer relapse. Peculiarities of the treatment of regional metastases in the case of tongue cancer are described. It is shown that radiotherapy plays the main role in the disease treatment as at earlier stages - intratissue method of treatment does, which uses different types of irradiation sources. At that, great attention is paid to the improvement of the methods of dosimetry and technical maintenance of the treatment. Prospects of the tongue cancer treatment by fast neutrons method, by the combined radiotherapy and the method of chemico-radiotherapy, surgical method etc. are pointed out
