Melting of 2D monatonic solids hard disk and square well system

  • 1. International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste (Italy)
  • 2. Anhui Univ., Physics Dept., Hefei (China)

Description

Using the Collins model of liquids the melting of 2D monatonic solids has been studied and the melting equation has been derived. For hard disk systems our results agree with the computer simulation experiments quite well. For square well system by means of LHW (Longust-Higgins and Widom) theory the triple point and the melting line near the triple point has been obtained to establish the phase boundary. (author)
