Contamination during an injection. How to manage risks related to extravasation?

Description
When injected, a medicine may diffuse outside of the vein. This is what is called extravasation. A physicist specialised in nuclear medicine discusses this problem, and outlines that, in such a case, the treatment is to be stopped. A figure describes and indicates immediate measures, recommendations to prevent this issue and to take it into care. Another specialist indicates that, in case of extravasation, a precise dose calculation is performed
