Investigation of the creep failure mechanism in the Mo-5% W alloy

  • 1. Dept. of Materials Engineering, Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa

Description

The effect of thermo-mechanical treatment, such as high temperature swaging on the creep failure mechanism of the Mo-5% W alloy has been investigated. It was found that micro-cavities located in grain boundaries which are normal to the application of the stress cause creep failure at relatively low strain
