The neutron leakage spectrum from a uranium sphere fed with 14-MeV neutrons

Description
Neutron leakage spectra from a uranium sphere shell having a thickness of 1.65 mean free paths, with a 14-MeV neutron source in its centre, were measured by time-of-flight and proton-recoil spectroscopy. Fission and activation rates were determined on the surface of the sphere. The experimental results are compared with calculations using different neutron transport codes and nuclear data of the libraries ENDL and ENDF/B-IV. (orig.)

Neutronenausflussspektren aus einer Uranium-Kugelschale von 1,65 mittleren freien Weglaengen Dicke mit einer 14-MeV-Neutronenquelle im Mittelpunkt wurden mit Flugzeit- und Protonenrueckstoss-Spektrometrie gemessen. Spalt- und Aktivierungsraten wurden auf der Kugeloberflaeche bestimmt. Die experimentellen Ergebnisse werden mit Berechnungen unter Verwendung unterschiedlicher Neutronentransportprogramme und Kerndaten der Bibliotheken ENDL und ENDF/B-IV verglichen.
