Description
The application of the linear electron accelerator as neutron pulsed source is based on neutron release due to the radiation produced by electron stopping. The process takes place in two steps: electrons supplied by the accelerator are stopped into an adequate target (Pb,Au,Pt) and afterwards gamma quanta are directed to a generating target (Be or natural uranium) wherefrom the neutrons are released by a (γ, n) reaction. The aim of the work is to optimize an electron-gamma-neutron target system for a linear electron accelerator with 7 and 15 MeV energies of the accelerators electrons (Author)
