Research on advanced reactor assessment method

Description
The advanced reactor comprehensive assessment is an important area of the 4 th generation reactor research and development, in order to comprehensively assess the potential of various types of reactor in safety, economics, proliferation resistance and physical protection, sustainable development of nuclear energy, and provide guidance for the research and development of advanced reactors. The brief introductions of INPRO method, GIF method and US DOE evaluation practices are presented, and a detailed study and comparison of these methods in terms of the purposes, objectives, framework, key areas, key indicators, evaluation objects, scope of application and detail requirements of design are made in this paper. Finally, the China Advanced Reactor Assessment method (CARA) suitable for domestic advanced reactor status, is proposed and the assessment method is described in detail. The China advanced reactor assessment method fully take advantages of international achievements such as INPRO, GIF and US DOE, and closely combines the research and development status of domestic advanced reactor, systematically studies and determines the area division and the applicable indicators set, and puts forward the rules for quantifying the assessment results so as to facilitate the comparison among the evaluation objects, thus making China Advanced Reactor Assessment method a feasible one. The China Advanced Reactor Assessment method can be used to comprehensively evaluate the potential of advanced reactors in China, provide scientific tools and means for the determination of technological routes and for the performance improvement of the design scheme of the advanced reactors, and promote the research and development of advanced reactors in China.
