Observable effects of the X-process muon source
Description
The zenithal enhancements exhibited by calculated integral muon intensities at large zenith angles and high energies are examined for variations due to energy dependence of both the K/π ratio in the conventional meson source of muons and the percentage of X-process at production. These enhancements are compared with the Utah underground measurements over a wide range of depth and zenith angle. The indicated energy dependence of the percentage of X-process at production is determined, and the implications of the resulting spectra for experimental investigations are discussed.
