Measurement of the branching fractions and CP violating asymmetries of charmless hadronic B decays -> K*π at BaBar

Description

Measurements or upper limits (90% confidence limits) of the branching tractions averaged over conjugate decays, B, and CP violating charge asymmetry measurements. A, for a number of B → K*π channels are presented: 1) B(B+ → K*0π+) = (15.8 ± 3.5 ± 1.9) x 10-6 2) A(B+ → K*0π+) = 0.27 ± 0.21 ± 0.04 3) B(B0 → K*+π-) < 38 x 10-6 4) A(B0 → K*+π-) = 0.23 ± 0.31 ± 0.07 5) B(B0 → K*0π0) < 20 x 10-6 6) A(B0 → K*0π0) = 0.76 ± 0.72 ± 0.06 The K* is detected through the decay to K+π- or K+π0 and therefore the B decays have the three body final state K+π-π+ or K+π-π0. The data used for these analyses was 22.7 x 106 BB-bar pairs produced by the PEP-II collider at SLAC and detected by the BaBar detector in 1999 and 2000. (author)
