Description

The Texas Experimental Tokamak is a national facility for research built and operated by The University of Texas at Austin for the U.S. Department of Energy. The TEXT facility is a general-purpose device designed to provide facilities for fusion experiments which are not compatible with the performance or schedules of the principal confinement devices. Measurements using thermoluminescent dosimeters have been performed both inside the controlled radiation area immmediately adjacent to the tokamak as well as outside the concrete shielding enclosure which surrounds the experimental area. These measurements are compared with film badge data taken since the facility became operational
