Description
Radiological consequences of research reactor using low enriched uranium as fuel due to Loss of Coolant Accident (LOCA) resulting in release of fission products from reactor core to containment building and eventually to the atmosphere have been analysed. These consequences have been estimated in terms of doses to workers and surrounding population. These estimates are then compared with the recommended emergency dose limits to determine the boundaries of the pollution and low population zones. The estimated boundaries of both these zones are 1140 m for complete meltdown of the core and 400 m for 30 % meltdown of core. (author)
