Description

Single crystals of ErRh/sub 1.1/Sn/sub 3.6/ and LuRh/sub 1.2/Sn/sub 4.0/ were obtained by crystallization from molten elements in an excess of tin. The temperature dependence of the resistivity is presented. The magnetic properties of both compounds are very different connected with magnetic properties of rare earth RE3+ ions. The large localized magnetic moment of Er3+ ion is responsible for the magnetic properties of ErRh/sub 1.1/Sn/sub 3.6/, low superconducting parameters and destruction of superconductivity at T/sub c2/ = 0.34 K. The very small magnetic moment of Lu3+ ion has no influence on superconductivity and therefore the superconducting parameters of LuRh/sub 1.2/Sn/sub 4.0/ are high
