Studies of the chemical consequences of the (n,γ) reaction in the copper N-benzoylphenylhydroxylamine

Description
In this paper the feasibility of applying copper N-benzoylphenylhydroxylamine for the preparation of high specific activity 64Cu is studied. The compound was synthetized and characterized with regard to its thermal behaviour and the effects of γ radioation from a 60Co source. Withe the aim of establishing the influence of time and isothermal annealings, pre-heated samples at several temperatures and at different time intervals, as well as, non annealed samples, were irradiated with thermal neutrons inside the IEA-R1, reactor. Estuda-se, neste trabalho a viabilidade de se usar a N-benzoilfenildroxilamina de cobre para preparacao de 64Cu de alta atividade especifica. Sintetizou-se e caracterizou-se o composto com relacao ao seu comportamento termico e a influencia da radiacao γ de uma fonte de 60Co. A fim de verificar a influencia do tempo e da temperatura de aquecimento na retencao, amostras pre-aquecidas em diversos tempos e temperaturas e nao aquecidas foram irradiadas com neutrons termicos no Reator IEA-R1.
