Resonances in 30Si system studied via the 18O(12C, α) and 16O(14C, α) reactions

Description
The 30Si system, in the excitation energy region E sub(exc) (30Si) = 35-43 MeV, has beeen investigated via two reactions: 16O(14C, α)26Mg and 18O(12C, α)26Mg. Correlated anomalies at energies corresponding to the same excitations. Angular distributions have been measured at some of these energies. The J values extracted from the best fit P2J(cosTHETA) analysis in the two reactions at corresponding energies are either the same or differ by one unit. The results obtained indicate the existence of intermediate resonances in non-alpha cluster systems and relate the appearance of these resonances to specific characteristics of the composite system.
