Some mechanisms of thermo-hydrogen treatment effects on properties of transition metals and alloys
- 1. Inst. Metallurgii im. A.A.Bajkova, RAN, Moscow (Russian Federation)
Description
Characteristics of hydrogen segregation near subgrain boundaries and dislocations at low temperatures (100-360 K) in Pd, Nb, V and Ta have been determined on the basis of analysis and treatment using the Boltsman type distribution law an experimental data on effect of cold plastic deformation on hydrogen solubility. Obtained values differ considerably from the conventional Cottrell clouds characteristics. Total capacity of hydrogen segregation in metals at high dislocation density amounts to about several tenth of atomic percent. Analysis of a number of experimental data leads to conclusion about the necessity of further development of the atomic models and mechanisms of hydrogen segregation influence
