A recent conference, 'The Pressurised Water Reactor and the United Kingdom', outlined the opportunities available to British industry should a pressurised water reactor be built at Sizewell. A report on the conference is presented under the headings: introduction (planned organization for the project, under the CEGB; initial contracts); construction and manufacture (design, components, timescale); the pressure vessel; after Sizewell B (additional planned and possible PWR sites).
