Alloys of the V-Co-Ga and V-Ni-Ga systems
Description
Using X-ray diffraction, microstructure and X-ray electron probe analysis methods studied are isothermal cross-sections of the V-Co-Ga and V-Ni-Ga system phase diagram at 800 deg C. As a result the existence in these systems of ternary compounds, having MnCu2Al type structure is proved and new T-phases are found, which are crystallized approximately at V30Co25Ga45 and V30Ni35Ga45 compositions in Th6Mn23 type structure. Lattice parameters are equal to 11, 72 and 11, 68 A respectively. The systems are characterized by extensive regions of solid solutions on the base of sigma-phases and by compounds having CsCl type structure. In V-Co-Ga and V-Ni-Ga systems a continuous range of solid solutions are formed between V3Co and V3Ga, V3Ni and V3Ga
