π-nucleus elastic scattering around the Δ(3,3) resonance

Description
An optical potential for π-nucleus scattering is derived within the particle-hole model used to describe nuclear-excitation modes explicitly including isobaric degrees of freedom. Elastic cross-sections for π-12C scattering in the energy range (150/280) MeV have been calculated and compared with the experimental data. A rather good agreement is found. (author)
