Pilot plant: An affordable step towards fusion power

Creators

Description

The traditional approach to fusion energy calls for the construction of an engineering test reactor, such as the ITER, followed by a demonstration reactor (DEMO). However, these are extremely expensive ventures. As an accelerated path to fusion energy, a pilot plant concept has been envisioned with the essential features of a fusion power plant, while leaving the specialized demonstration of other features to other facilities. The various aspects of this pilot plant are described
