Alkali metal ion specificity of a crown ether precipitate with phosphomolybdic acid

Description
Radiochemical tracer techniques have been used to study the sorption of K+, Na+ and Rb+ from aqueous HNO3 on a precipitate of dibenzo-18-crown-6 with phosphomolybdic acid. The distribution coefficient Ksub(d) varies markedly among these cations, being largest for K+. The dependence of Ksub(d) on metal ion concentration and pH has been studied. (author)
