Nicotinamide complexes with divalent metal acetates

  • 1. AN Uzbekskoj SSR, Tashkent. Inst. Khimii

Description

Presented are the results of synthesizing and studying vibrational spectra and thermal stability of complexes of bivalent metals acetates, in particular, cadmium, with nicotinamide. The ligand coordination is shown to be performed through the nitrogen atom of the pyridine ring. In aqueous solutions the complexes act as electrolytes, whereas in alcohol solutions they act as non-electrolytes, which points to octahedral structure of the complexes. The melting point of Cd(CH3COO)2x2L is 185 deg C; the decomposition temperature of the complex is 225 deg C
